West Marin Craftsman

Building this home—so close to my heart—was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fully express my passion for woodworking. This was the house where I raised my family, and with no time constraints, I had the rare gift of pouring my soul into every detail.

I learned the craft from my grandfather, and with that legacy in hand, I approached every inch of the home with care and intention. From hand-selecting each piece of wood, to drafting models, to the final assembly—every moment was thoughtful and precise. If something wasn’t right, we didn’t compromise; we tore it down and started again.

Yet, sometimes a carpenter’s mistake led to unexpected beauty—an error becoming an improvement. That was the real magic of it all. It often felt as though the wood itself was speaking to us… and we were listening.
